On June 21st, PlanET will share the results of a community survey of nearly 6,000 residents: their visions for land use activities, infrastructure, planning and growth across all of East Tennessee.

Community participation has important implications for regional urban planning. It puts more ideas on the table, includes varied perspectives, gains buy-in and support for the effort, and ultimately leads to more durable, effective and beneficial results for everyone.

Led by Mark Donaldson, Director of the Knoxville-Knox County Metropolitan Planning Commission, this presentation will impart vital stakeholder insights into the direction of regional planning activities, and will engage you in a meaningful discussion of the best approaches to help turn community visions into reality.

A portion of this presentation will feature audience participation, where you will asked to contribute your thoughts, evaluation and analysis to help develop a framework for an action strategy to guide regional planning goals and objectives.
